On behalf of the Shooting Federation of Canada, we are asking all athletes who are between the ages of 17 & 28, either entering postsecondary studies, currently studying full-time or have graduated in the last year from a postsecondary institution (college, university, CEGEP or technical school) who may be interested in representing Canada and competing in the 2013 Universiade, to contact us.
The quality of the competitions and of the participating athletes is world-class, which is an excellent opportunity for Canada’s shooters to compete and gain valuable international experience.

All positions (athletes, coach, official, referee) are self-funded, and payment must be received prior to departure.
All participants will be required to have a visit with the Travel Clinic to get updated immunizations. The passport expiry date must be a minimum of six months after the date arrival back home (approx. January 20th, 2014).

The estimated cost for each team participant (ie. athlete, coach, official) is approximately $2,600. This includes accommodation, meals, transfers, administration, stewards, officials, medical assistance, ceremonies and competition infrastructure as well as the CIS participation fee. Airfare will be an additional cost of approximately $3,000.
All other additional costs will be the responsibility of the participant. This may include and not be limited to equipment transportation, permits, Russian visa, etc.
The SFC in conjunction with the contacts below will coordinate payment and contact with the Canadian Interuniversity Sport (CIS) on behalf of athletes, coaches and referees. There will be NO contact with the CIS on an individual basis.

By February 28th, 2013 please contact Pat Gustafson, Lisa Borgerson or Adam Landriault with your interest in competing.
The selection committee will inform athletes by March 15, 2013 if they have been selected for the Team.
By April 1st, 2013 you will need to provide the SFC with a deposit of $200 to secure your position on the Team.
