In Memorium - Lloyd Hamulas
Dear friends and shooting sport enthusiasts,
It is with a heavy heart that I announce the passing of a long time member of our community, Lloyd Hamulas.
Lloyd devoted nearly 30 years in aiding the development of the shooting sports in Canada. He started as a parent involved in his local club, Sapperton Fish & Game Club, and transitioned into the club’s Chief Range Officer. He had a knack for working with kids. Lloyd had a gentle and kind nature about him that allowed him to introduce shooting to kids in a way in that they could enjoy and flourish in. His program allowed many juniors to reach the national team level. Lloyd's passion for the sport led to his involvement as a Director for the British Columbia Target Sports Association.
Lloyd later became involved with the Paralympic Shooting Program. Many of the Paralympians were training out of Sapperton and like many volunteers, if you continue to show up you end up with a job. Lloyd would assist the athletes with essentially anything they needed. He started traveling with the paralympians to Nationals and supported them during their competition.
Lloyds caring and quiet nature touched many people in the shooting sports.
There will be a service in his memory held on Wednesday March 13, 2013 at 1:00pm at the Fraser Heights Funeral home located at 14835 Fraser Highway, Surrey, BC, V3R 3N6. Details for the reception to be provided at the service.
