Canadians Take to the Podium Seven Times in International Shooting Championships

At the first Brazilian Open Shooting Championships that just ended in Rio de Janeiro, Canadians won an unprecedented seven (7) medals in rifle competition – 4 Gold, 1 Silver and 2 Bronze.

The Championships were hosted October 3 to 6 at the National Sports Shooting Centre (CNTE) in Deodoro, Rio de Janeiro; the same location that the Paralympic Games will be held in 2016.

Team Canada won four of five events that were entered, signalling the best IPC World Cup ever for Canadian shooters.

Chris Trifonidis brings home Gold in each of the R3 and R6 events
Doug Blessin collected Gold in R9, Silver in R4 and Bronze in R5 events
Mike LaRochelle took Gold in R5 and Bronze in R4 events
