[Ottawa, ON] — [Nov 22] — After 10 years of dedicated service and significant contributions to the success and growth of the Shooting Federation of Canada’s (SFC) high performance program, Shotgun National Team Coach, Florin Marinache has decided to step down from the helm.
Under Florin’s leadership, the Shotgun National Team has achieved remarkable milestones, including 7th place in Women Trap at the 2016 Olympic Games, Trap Men’s Team Bronze at 2018 CAT, Bronze Trap Mixed Team at the 2019 Pan Am Games, Women Team Bronze at 2024 CAT and qualified to numerous finals at major competitions. Florin has been a mentor and role model, demonstrating exceptional dedication, leadership, and passion for the sport.
“Florin has been a cornerstone of our national team program, and has contributed greatly to the growth and development of the high performance program,” said Jasmine Northcott, Chief Executive Officer, SFC. “We are deeply grateful for his commitment and the positive impact he has had on the sport.”
Reflecting on his career, Florin stated, “It has been an incredible journey, and I am immensely proud of what we have achieved together. I am grateful for the support from the athletes, fellow coaches, SFC staff, and I look forward to seeing the continued success of the team.”
As we celebrate Florin’s contributions to SFC, plans are already underway for a transition that will ensure the continued success of the National Team; more details to follow shortly.
