Canadian Junior National Air Gun Championships (CJNC)

Overview

Relays will be filled based on request and first come first served basis. 

Prior to registering with the SFC, competitors are encouraged to contact event organisers to arrange relays and to check availability (See contact details for each participating province below).

Competitors should request a 1st and 2nd choice and organizers will do their best to accommodate.

Competitors are requested to arrive 30 minutes ahead of their scheduled relay to allow time to check in.

Course of Fire:  The CNJC will consist of one ISSF course of fire in air rifle or air pistol (60 shots) completed in a time of 75 minutes.  Prior to the first competition shot, there will be 15 minutes of sighting-in time. Shooters will be called to line 10 minutes prior to the start of "Sighting Time". 

The match will follow the ISSF rules and some matches might be conduced on electronic targets. There will be a random equipment check, post event.  

NOTE: Participants with a "Daisy Rifle" or "pump-action air rifle" may participate in a distinct category.

This year, the Championships are not QSDR Eligible.

Mixed Teams

For those athletes wishing to participate in mixed teams, please indicate your interest when contacting the event organizer. 

Mixed  team events consists of 30 shots per athlete in a time limit of 30 minutes.

 

Results

The 2023 Championships, were a great success! They were hosted in Truro, Nova Scotia on March 23-26, 2023  by the Shooting Federation of Nova Scotia (SFNS).

The inaugural Championships were held remotely in each Province and Territory on August 20-22, 2022

In-Person Championships

In-person Championships are held in pre-selected province or territory every odd year.

Each province and territory selects their best junior athletes to form teams.

 

 

Remote Championships

In even numbered years, matches are held simultaneously in all provinces & territory. Any juniors athlete can participate. Each PTSO may utilize more than one location.
