Long term SFC Executive and Board Member Lisa Deneka has announced her resignation from her duties and positions on the executive and board of the SFC.
Lisa most recently held the position of Vice President, High Performance and chaired the High Performance Committee. Lisa took up this role six years ago with a desire to develop, clarify and move the SFC High Performance Program towards the principles, outcomes and goals aligned with both Sport Canada and the Own the Podium program in Canada. Lisa has dedicated many thousands of hours over the years to create a shift in high performance culture and produce a strong foundation for Canadian target shooting athletes' performances going forwards. She did all of this on a volunteer basis and we are grateful for her input and stalwart leadership. Although it will be a big loss for our organization, we have accepted Lisa's resignation and we wish her well in her future endeavours.
The SFC will be working with the new Executive Director, Jasmine Northcott, who begins her duties in late March to determine the structure and leadership of the High Performance Program under the new governance structure to be set in place by September 2023, but in the interim, the HPC Committee and Joey Hutton, our High Performance Coordinator, will maintain the supervision of the program.
