Australia announced the shooting sports are to be included in the 2026 Commonwealth Games. (read the full story here https://bit.ly/3SXUL2C

    SFC president Sandra Honour states:

" I am very glad that shooting sports will be included in the 2026 Commonwealth Games and congratulate Shooting Australia for its efforts; that the SFC fully supported. Unfortunately due to pressures of athlete numbers and facility requirements, several key shooting sports are not included in 2026. It is unfortunate that the big bore rifle events have not been included as the CWG is their major games. SFC stands ready to partner with the  Dominion of Canada Rifle Association,  Commonwealth Sport Canada and the event bid organization for HAMILTON 2030 to confirm that several ranges near Hamilton are capable and willing of hosting the majority of the historic shooting events and will endeavor to work towards more shooting sports to be included if Hamilton is the successful host. "
